Why We Built This Site
Tennessee law allows access to many government records, yet no single office assembles a complete Johnson County criminal history on request. The Sheriff holds local reports and booking material. Circuit Court Clerk Melissa Hollaway keeps General Sessions and Criminal Court files. TBI operates TORIS, TDOC maintains felony custody and supervision data, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry serves a narrow public-safety purpose. Bringing those distinct official routes together makes it easier to choose the right source without implying that any one source is complete.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: verified routes to the Sheriff, clerk, and statewide record systems
- Record guides: ways to search and interpret Johnson County criminal court cases
- Official checks: the differences among TORIS, authorized fingerprint checks, and an FBI self-review
- Record-clearing information: the court route for Tennessee expunction and current official forms
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, with no connection to a Tennessee court, law-enforcement office, or government agency. Those limits matter:
- We do not produce official criminal histories or run checks for visitors
- We cannot issue certified copies, court orders, or repository records
- We do not submit records requests or expunction papers for anyone
- We cannot apply the law to a particular charge, warrant, or case
- We cannot promise that an agency's address, fee, or procedure has not changed
An official document must come from its holder, such as the Johnson County Sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, or TBI. This site only identifies the appropriate route.
Search Partners
Third-party companies power search boxes on some pages. They control their prices, data, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that helps support free access to the reference material. We do not control the provider's charges or the completeness of a match.
